An Exceptional Week End in MARGAUX
An exceptional weekend in Margaux,
in the heart of the great classified growth vineyards of the Médoc,
on the 21st and 22nd of May 2010.
Terre de Vins magazine will be taking 25 of its readers into the heart of the great classified growths of Margaux for two exceptional days with accommodation at the Relais de Margaux resort, a four star hotel with spa and golf course.
2 days of tasting exceptional vintages of : Château Margaux, Château Branne-Cantenac, Château Palmer, Château Kirwan, Château Rauzan-Ségla and Château Lascombes.
Jean-Marc Quarin, expert taster and Bordeaux wine specialist, will initiate the participants and will provide commentaries at each lunch and dinner. The vintages will be revealed in the programme.
A bi-lingual guide, specialised in wine tourism, will translate for English speakers.
Transport on the tour will be provided by Terre de Vins.
Itinerary for Friday 21st May
Reception and gastronomic lunch at Château Brane-Cantenac , 2nd classified growth, with tastings of the 2004,2002 and 1996 vintages.
Grand tasting of Château Margaux , 1st classified growth. Great vintages, which have been chosen with care, and whose well-kept secrets will be unveiled exclusively to participants of this Terre de Vins weekend.
Relaxation at the four star Relais de Margaux Hotel , including an activity choice of spa, boat trip or introduction in golf.
Grand gastronomic dinner at Château Palmer , 3rd classified growth, with tastings of Alter Ego 2000 and Château Palmer 1998, 1990 and 1983.Accommodation at the four star Relais de Margaux Hotel .
Itinerary for Saturday 22nd May
A choice between the four star Relais de Margaux and Chateau Kirwan : tasting of the château’s 2006, 2001 and 1996 vintages and of Charmes de Kirwan (second label) 2006 , or golf/spa at the four star Relais de Margaux Hotel.
Visit of Château Rauzan-Ségla , 2nd classified growth, with tastings of the 2008, 2007 and 2001 vintages and of Ségla (second label) 2005.
Reception and gastronomic lunch at Château Lascombes , with tastings of 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007 vintages and Chevalier de Lascombes (second label) 2005, 2006.
